Obituary for Sidney Sapp
SIDNEY SAPP
Sidney Sapp 80, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Burke Medical Center. Mr. Sapp was the son of the late Dennis and Mary Ward Sapp. He was a native of Waynesboro and a resident of Augusta before joining the United States Air Force in 1950. While in the Air Force Sidney and his twin brother Seabie were stationed in Washington State. After his military service he was employed with the Savannah River Site and South Carolina Gas and Light Company. Sidney was an avid musician playing the saxophone and enjoyed playing along side his brother Seabie who played the trumpet. Sidney was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Sidney was preceded in death by his half brother, William Russell “Speedy” Sapp, his brother, J.C. Sapp, his brother, Floyd Sapp and his sister, Delma Sapp Jackman.
He is survived by his twin brother, Seabie Sapp of Grapeview, Washington, his sister, Elsie Prescott of Waynesboro, his nephew, Jody Prescott and wife Melinda of Waynesboro and their children, Robert, Sid, Jackie and Gracie. Also surviving are, his niece, Lynda Sapp Storset and husband Terry of Fox Island, Washington, his nephew, Mike Sapp and wife Jenny of Roy, Washington, his nephew, Greg Sapp of Washington State and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Joiner Anderson Saxon Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Wayne Dixon officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be Johnny Jenkins, Gene Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Greg Coursey, Richard Sapp and Kip Jenkins.
