Gilbert Rowland Thomas, Sr.

January 3, 1957 - January 30, 2022

Gilbert Rowland Thomas, Sr. 65 of Rocky Ford passed at his daughter’s residence on Sunday evening, January 30, 2022. He was born in Savannah, GA and was a retired automotive mechanic, and had been employed with Mr. Transmission for many years. He resided throughout the southeast and enjoyed fishing, having a beverage by a camp fire, and entertaining his family. He was a God fearing man and was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Nelson, Sr. and Ruth Adel Miness Thomas; siblings, James Thomas, Alvin Thomas, Jr., Paul Thomas, Nancy Mittler, and Louise Teigue; and an infant grandson. Survivors include children, Gilbert Rowland, Jr. and Jerri Lynn Thomas, Phillip and Angie Thomas of Pembroke, Brittany Thomas and Jerome Bush of Rocky Ford, James and Tabatha Thomas of Glennville, Brandon Thomas and Elaina Douglas of Midway, Miracle Thomas and Jesus Gonzalez of Hephzibah, and John Thomas of Ellabell; a sister, Brenda Adams of Tarboro, NC; 18 grandchildren, and a great- grandchild.
