James “Jim” Robert Kriebel, 75, of Sylvania, GA, passed at the Optim Medical Center-Screven on September 9, 2021. Jim was born in Findlay, OH. His family moved to Harleysville, PA where he graduated from High School. Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Sergeant serving as a cartographer during the Vietnam War while stationed in Boston, Massachusetts. After his discharge, Jim began a career with the Water Department, Fire District No.1 of South Hadley, MA from which he retired as supervisor. Jim and his wife resided in Hillsgrove, PA until 2016 when they found their retirement home in Screven County, GA. There he enjoyed caring for his property with his Kubota tractor. Jim was a Chevy Corvette enthusiast and had owned five over the course of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, tinkerer, wood worker, and electrician. He was mechanically inclined, having done most all repairs himself and crafting anything from birdhouses to cabinetry. Jim will be remembered by those that knew him for his kindness, sincerity, honesty, and sense of humour. Jim will always be in his wife’s heart as her best friend, protector, and husband who loved her by not only by words, but by his actions. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Eva (Grieger) of Sylvania, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Melissa Kriebel of Feeding Hills, MA; his deeply loved granddaughters of whom he was so proud, Sarah and Morgan Kriebel of Feeding Hills, MA; daughter Laura Galloway and family of MA; sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Larry Derstine of Harleysville, PA. Brother-in-law John Mitchell of NC; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald H. Kriebel and Helen R. (Baumgartner) Kriebel and sister, Lynn Luzzier. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Patient Services or Staff Break Area, c/o Lagina Evans at Optim Medical Center-Screven, 215 Mims Road, Sylvania, GA 30467.
