Mr. James “Jimmy” Jerald Lariscy, also known as “Split”, 65, of Waynesboro, passed away at his residence on September 9, 2021. He was born to the late James Arthur and Bernice Joyner Lariscy in Jenkins County in 1956. Jimmy was employed with the Screven County Sheriff’s Department, as well as the Emergency Medical Services and the Fire Department. He drove a truck for many years, starting when he was fourteen. He enjoyed spending time riding horses, watching NASCAR, and mud bogging. He especially cherished the time spent with his family and a good conversation. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Regina Schultz, and a sister, Inez Burke. He is survived by wife, Melissa Ann Lariscy, his children; Melissa Trafficanti, Cindy Lariscy, Mark (Mandy) Howard, John (Danielle) Anderson, Christy Anderson, James (Britany) Lariscy, CJ Barrs, Tristian Craun, 29 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, siblings, Ronald (Gloria) Owens, Caroyln (Preston) Crider, Michael (Pam) Lariscy, Larry (Terri) Lariscy, Angie (Jessie) Bragg, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel at 2:00pm with Rev. Raymond Trent officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Little Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be CJ Barrs, Tristian Craun, James Lariscy, Mark Howard, John Anderson, Mark Snell, Cody Tipton, and Hunter Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandsons. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Jimmy Lariscy Memorial Fund, c/o Joiner Anderson, P.O. Box 551, Sylvania, GA 30467. Interment will follow in the Little Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
